Alienware has always been at the front line of high end gaming notebooks since it became a part of Dell, whether is graphics performance or speed. Alienware has recently announced that some new wireless tech will be added into their notebooks, courtesy of Bigfoot Networks. Many Alienware gaming notbooks will receive the Killer Wireless-N WiFi card providing faster connection speeds and smoother gaming online.
The lucky gaming notebooks to receive the adapter are the M18x, M17x, M14x, and the M11x. The WiFi card is to promote less latency and boost data speeds up to 450Mbps. It is also a smart card, reading gaming traffic and optimizing for less lag and smoother online game play.
The Bigfoot networking card has whats called “Advanced Stream” to detect the traffic and prioritize games for the user. Also, it has visual bandwidth controls alowing the user to see which applications are hogging all the bandwidth and kill them if necessary. Pricing for the optional card is yet to be determined.
