Over the weekend, Samsung officially launched two new 11.6-inch Samsung Series 9 laptops starting with model numbers NP900X1B. Both sport new Intel 2nd-gen Core i3-2357M processors, either 2GB or 4GB of RAM and either a 64GB or 128GB SSD. The lower end model is actually $150 cheaper than the old model with a first-gen Core i3 processor. Turns out it’s been up for preorder at J&R since late last month but I didn’t notice it, and pricing is a little lower than the RRP of $1,049. It’s $999 here.
This is the lower end NP900X1B-A02US model with 2GB of RAM and a 64GB SSD. Additional specs include an 11.6-inch 1366 x 768 matte display, Intel HD 3000 graphics, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, 1.3MP webcam, Bluetooth 3.0, Gigabit Ethernet, backlit keyboard, microSD card slot, stereo speakers, one USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports, audio jacks, Micro HDMI, 4-cell non-removable battery and Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
No sighting of the higher end model just yet.
