We’re still waiting for the first 7-inch Honeycomb Android tablet to arrive and it could be either the Acer Iconia Tab A100, or the ViewSonic 7x – both due out very soon. There have been no official dates.. until today as the ViewSonic 7x gets official in Japan with a release sometime in mid-August and it’s re-branded by Camangi as the Mangrove7. Camangi handles ViewSonic’s releases locally in Japan, so elsewhere ViewSonic will be selling it. You might remember Camangi from last year not making a good impression with their first WebStation 7-inch Android tablet.

Anyway, we know the specs already but here they are – a 7-inch 1024 x 600 display with Gorilla Glass, Android 3.1, Nvidia Tegra 2 chip, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of flash storage, 2MP front / 5MP front (+flash) cameras, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, 1600mAh battery, micro USB 2.0, microSD card slot, mini HDMI, GPS / A-GPS and various sensors. Weighs 380g and is 11.92mm thick. It’s priced at 49,800 yen in Japan – we’ve heard between $449 and $499 for Wi-Fi and HSPA+ models when it hits the US. You can take a look at our ViewSonic 7x hands on for more details on the tablet.
