The Acer AOD257 has gone on sale for $249! Ever since there management team has been shaken up like a strong martini, Acer has been dealing some hefty cards, along with clearing there existing 3M unit inventory. Expecting to see their netbooks come out at excellent prices the bargain price comes from under the shell of the Aspire One AOD257′s N570 dual core processor. Like everyone else, we were assuming to see this 10″ netbook price at $270, but Amazon seems to differ with a set price at $249.

If you are unfamiliar with the line-up of prices compared with other netbooks around town, don’t worry, the Aspire One is the cheapest netbook with a 1.66 GHz Intel Atom N570 dual core processor.

It is loaded with the usual demanding set of ports such as VGA, 3 x USB 2.0, ethernet, WiFi, 4-in-1 card reader, 1 GB of DDR3 RAM and a 250 GB hard drive. The only downside to this beautiful piece of machinery is the battery life. If you want to get 9 hours of battery life you will have to upgrade to the 6-cell version at $300 instead of the 3-cell version at 4 hours of battery life for $249.

    Not bad.
Just thought I’d comment and say that Best Buy Canada also has the Acer Aspire One 522 (AO522) for $229.99 CND. That’s with the AMD C-50, 6 cell battery instead of 3-cell AND an HDMI out! Other than that the specs are the same as AOD257.

I bought one the other day and threw in 4 gigs of ram and it’s a dream machine! :)
