ASUS seem to be going on something of an adventure with their casing materials as of late. First we saw those great aluminium models at CeBIT, now another model has leaked out which appears to be rocking a Carbon Fibre lid.
The 1001PX will be available in two flavours – first a Windows XP / 160GB / 3-cell battery model for a pretty reasonable $325, and secondly a Windows 7 / 250GB / 6-cell battery model for $400. Both configurations have 1GB RAM, an Intel Atom N450 processor, a 10.1″ display and a couple of USB ports, plus VGA and ethernet.
Frankly I can’t see any reason you’d trump for the lower model as you’re getting a lot of extras for only another $75. No word on release date but Netbook Italia is saying these models will be officially outed in the next few days.
