If you just bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and you’d like a few more FPS whilst browsing Reddit, you can install pershoot’s ‘Kernel Preview’ which allows you to overclock the tablet to up to 1.4GHz like you can with the Motorola Xoom, Asus Eee Pad Transformer, Acer Iconia A500 and NOOK Color, to name a few Android tablets that have broken the 1GHz speed barrier in the past.

I’d mention Quadrant scores but they seem to be all over the place it’d be pointless. This developer’s build of Honeycomb showed up last week, based on Samsung’s recently released open source kernel code of the tablet. There are reports of crashes and reboots but surprise! – it’s a preview version. This is all assuming you know your Android lingo.. if you’re new you’ll probably have to set aside a few hours learning the basics of rooting somewhere..
