Obviously it’s adorable predecessor sold out all of its limited run of 500 units, as Bandai is back with the updated Rilakkuma SX, which features all the charm of the original, plus an Atom Z520 processor , touchscreen and Netvertible form-factor.  No word yet on whether it emits giggling sounds when you touch the screen, although I’m not betting against it.

The other specs are as follows – 1GB RAM, 60GB HDD, DVD Combo drive and an 8.9″, 1280 x 768 display.  It’s manufactured by Kohjinsha, the same guys who made that dual-screen Netbook a while back, and will be on sale at the Namco Bandai online store in June for a cool ¥90,000 (or around $1000).

Personally I’m just disappointed this model didn’t hit the market in time to be the surprise winner in our Netvertible Comparison.
