A forum member over at InsanelyWind, an MSI Wind fansite, has torn the screen off his machine, slapped a touchscreen on it, and taped it onto where the keyboard used to be to create a fairly passable homebrew tablet.
The modder has also installed OS X with some UI customisations to ape the iPad’s interface. Some clever wiring has allowed the screen-mounted webcam to keep functioning, too. The duct tape gives you some clue as to what stage this mod is currently at, however it’s always nice to see people ripping their netbooks apart and re-purposing then as they see fit.
If you’re keen to see how this project develops, you can head on over to the thread.
