UPDATE: Looks like we jumped the gun, the post from Nvidia went out a bit too early so we’ve got a walk through of the original below. We’ll link you to the updated hardware accelerated video here as soon as its released! Sorry about that folks! These things happen sometimes!
Zinio and NVIDIA have worked together to bring a new version of their magazine application to Tegra powered Android 3.1 Honeycomb tablets. The updated version of Zinio uses Tegra’s GPU to leverage OpenGL ES acceleration, this allows for responsive pages with high resolution graphics. Typically when dealing with magazine applications pages can be pages as slow slow to load or have lower-resolution images which often aren’t zoom-able. One of the biggest advantages of the hardware acceleration is the snappy page turns, crisp image and the salable text.
If you would like to check out this application in action its available for free from Android Marketplace and we happen to have a video of Zinio’s app below for you viewing pleasure.
