SmartQ announces Ten an Android tablet using Cortex-A9 core processor, Mali 400 for the GPU graphics chip under its 9.7-inch display with a screen resolution of 1024 X 768. Its also running Android 2.2 Other features include a G-sensor, ambient light sensor, GPS module, 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

At the time I wasn’t aware that the SmartQ10 was the industry’s first known use of piezoelectric plate touch technology. The piezoelectric touchscreen offers multi-touch capability with the use of non-conductive instruments such as a stylus as well as your fingers. SmartQ Ten’s screen features are called piezoelectric screen, the technology allows for both human multi-touch (10-point) as well as non-conductive styli use (older type of stylus).

We currently have no word on the pricing but the exposed screws and Rockchip iteration of the A9 processor indicate that its going to be extremely affordable. My guess is its going to be in the $200-225 price range, we’ll keep an eye out on Amazon for this one since it could be an extremely interesting tablet for the holiday season.
