Update: The MSI Windpad 110W is now also available to pre-order at Amazon.com for $599.99.
The first tablet to sport AMD’s brand-spanking new AMD Fusion Z-01 processor (5.9W TDP) for tablets is the MSI Windpad 110W. Feels pretty warm and plenty of air vents on the sides and back to keep it cool. Optical mouse located on the top-right side of the bezel, of which is surrounded by plastic-chrome.
The specs – a 10.1″ 1280 x 800 capacitive multi-touch display (4-point), the aforementioned 1GHz dual-core Z-01 APU, 2GB of DDR3 RAM, 32GB SSD, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, 5MP auto-focus rear camera, 4200mAh battery, Windows 7 Home Premium and around the sides – 1x USB 2.0, headphone, volume rocker, SDHC card reader, rotation lock, docking port, stereo speakers across the bottom and mini HDMI. This should be out very soon, and you can already pre-order this at ExcaliberPC for $599.
We got a WEI score of 2.8, strangely lower than the very similar but with Intel Cedar Trail MSI WindPad 120W that got a score 3.4. Won’t put too much into that and these prototype models.
