ViewSonic’s 7-inch ViewPad 7x would have been a surprise entry if it hadn’t been leaked prior to Computex but anyway, here’s our hands on with it. It’s packing Nvidia Tegra 2, a 1024 x 600 display (don’t know what type of display), a customed Honeycomb 3.01 user interface, 2MP front / 5MP rear + flash cameras, DLNA, and for ports – micro USB, mini HDMI, SDHC card reader, headset jack and volume rocker. Weighs 380g. In comparison, the NOOK Color is 450g and the Galaxy Tab Wi-Fi is 385g.

We’re looking at pricing between $449 and $499 and there’s going to be Wi-Fi and HSPA+ models. We’re also hearing 4G models but that might just mean HSPA+ “4G”. It’ll be out at the beginning of Q3. As you’ve probably heard, it has been rumored that the tablet was delayed to Q3 due to Honeycomb “incompatibility” with its 7-inch display and you can see from the video that ViewSonic has done plenty of tweaking to the vanilla Honeycomb interface (edit – shell on top of Honeycomb).
