Update: the gang at Engadget hears it’ll hit stores by Christmas with whatever version of Android is available at the time, which sounds like good timing for Ice Cream Sandwhich which is a perfect fit for a phone that needs to be both a phone and tablet.
What’s better than a phone or a tablet for mobility? Why a phone-in-a-tablet of course, and obviously we’re speaking about ASUS’ brand new “breaking the rules”which promises the best of both worlds. We don’t have details on specs just yet and there’s only mock-ups on display but the presentation video tells us that you can plug the 4.3-inch phone in at any time to continue to carry your task over to the 10.1-inch tablet and vice versa, whether that be an e-mail, webpage or your half-way through a movie. There’s a little more; the tablet has nothing powering it (requires the phone), has a screen, speakers and a battery that can recharge the phone. SIM card on the phone means only one wireless internet connection is required (although we’ll see what carriers think about this).
