A lot of consumers feel that most tablets are overpriced, especially the recent wave of 10-inch Honeycomb tablets. Typical pricing starts at from $450 – $500 for bottom end Wi-Fi only models. Add a few hundred more for more internal memory and 3G / 4G connectivity. Then ASUS came along with the Eee Pad Transformer priced at $399 and showed everyone how you price tablets.
ASUS’ pricing is going to cheapen future tablets arriving to the market no doubt about that. Digitmes hears from sources that we’re looking at up to $100 off on future tablets with Android 3.1. They also hear Acer is reconsidering pricing on its Acer Iconia Tab A500, which I assume means, pricing may drop below the current $449 for 16GB and $499 for 32GB.
