    What is alumiMum? haha
  • you obviously have some problems with your speakers. i am getting good results with logitech and bose. if you are using a headset, check out sennheiser. it just helps you to understand stuff way better ;)

    The title says "Alumimum netbook"
I think that is what "Grammar police" was referring to :)

Nice netbook! I would love one with Aluminum lid and with the Nvidia Ion 2...

I really like the design and hope that others manufactures will follow, not only for netbooks but for full sized notebooks as well. Lets put an end to glossy, fingerprint magnets. Knowing Asus price won't be that high as it must be lower than their culv offerings which start from about 500 dollars (ul20a), so I guess 400-450 price range. The big question is not how much it's gonna cost but when get I get one? Sasha any information leaks about availability?
  • i am back in Taipei next wednesday and you can believe me, i will be all over ASUS to get this device asap and to squeeze every little piece of information out of them

Great news Sascha! Squeeze them hard so maybe you will get a review unit for some more intimate hands on. Guess your Acer netbook is not so appealing any more even considering the pricing ;) I was actually gonna get Sammy n210 because of your great experience with nc10 and also because of non-glossy display, good keyboard and famous 6cell 5900mAH 11 hours battery but after seeing these new range of EeePC netbooks, don't want anything else even though I need to get one soon.

gorgeous! heres what concerns me about going metal...

    whats the price premium?
    are the battery/RAM/HDD non-removable?
    does it feel heavier?
    did it feel any hotter?
wont even bother asking about wifi reception.

can you tell us the different model numbers? are these based off the 1008/1005 or both?
  • this is an early sample and i am sure this will be around $500. I am sure you will be able to open it to upgrade some components and actually it felt pretty light. No heat issues at all and beliefe me, you won't have any problems with receiving a decent wifi signal. i reviewed wifi netbooks before

this is a complete new design and it's called 1018p
