Update: Droid Life got in touch with HTC and confirmed that then pen will be sold separately.
The key selling point of the upcoming HTC Flyer is no doubt the active digitizer and stylus (which we suspect is N-Trig). We’ve seen one video in Italy of an artist drawing on it and here’s another one, in English this time. He says Wacom is in a different league (obviously) but for something on the go, something for scribbling down notes or for drawing maps it’s good. He also says that you can draw resting your palm on the screen as long as the pen touches the screen first, which requires a bit of practice. Nothing new with those thoughts as we discovered back with the HP Slate 500 N-Trig vs Wacom comparison post where artists gave their thoughts on how the budget oriented N-Trig compares to Wacom.
There also news today that the pen accessory will cost a whopping $80, and a pen holder pouch will cost $35 as spotted on Best Buy Business. What’s still not clear is if the tablet will ship with the pen included although the source of the above video mentions it will be bundled, at least in Singapore and we’ve seen one unboxing with the tablet included.
