Best Buy was the first to show listings and a promo ad for the ASUS Eee Pad Transformer in the US, on multiple occasions (each time pulled down) and at around the same time, J&R had the keyboard dock up for $149, but that was quickly taken down afterwards (see post). Today, Android Police had spotted the dock up at retailer PC Richard & Sons but, again, it has been pulled but not before they spotted the $149.99 price tag, so it’s probably safe to say the dock, purchased separately is going to be $150. The tablet itself will go for $399 and the dock should be cheaper when purchased with the tablet, but we don’t know the US pricing for that yet, but between $400 – $500 seems like a safe guess.

THE TRANSFORMER 16 GB WiFi MODEL WILL COST US$600 AND WITH THE KEYBOARD US$700 BASED ON THE PRICE THEY ARE SELLING FOR IN THE UK . THATS $100 MORE THAN THE IPAD 16 GB
IF ASUS PUT THEIR TABLET ON THE MARKET FOR THIS PRICE THEY WILL FAIL AT LAUNCH JUST LIKE MOTOROLLA HAS

It looks like the 16gb version will be $400 without the dock, making it $550 with the dock. Only $50 more than the 16gb iPad2 that doesn’t come with a dock. Seems like a great deal to me. I think the U.S. price will be cheaper than the UK price if the rumors are right.

The XOOM was overpriced, but I think Asus has done a much better job with the Transformer assuming all this speculation is correct.
