If you are thinking of buying an Acer Iconia Tab A500, Motrola Xoom or an iPad 2 this is a must see if you want to know what kind of difference you’re going to see when recording video.

The results seem very clear that the iPad 2 wins the blue ribbon in this contest, however the Xoom did have its good moments with its ability to adjust for lighting relatively quickly but the Acer Iconia Tab came in dead last.

If you’re wondering about camera specifications, well I’ve gathered them below to satiate your curiosity.

Acer Iconia Tab A500 has a 5.0 megapixel rear camera with 2592×1944 Pixels, auto focus, digital zoom and an LED flash. If you are looking to shoot HD video you will be able to record in 720p. The front facing camera is 2.0 MP with 1600×1200 Pixels which is meant for video calling and chat.

The Motorola Xoom has a 5.0 MP rear facing camera 2592×1944 Pixels, auto focus, digital zoom and dual LED flash. If you’re looking to shoot video you’ll be able to achieve 30fps in 720p HD quality. The front facing camera is 2.0 MP with 1600×1200 pixels and is also meant for video calling and chat.

So far there is little difference between the Acer and the Motorola apart from the dual flash. The iPad 2 has what appear to be lower camera specs with its rear camera only boasting 0.92 MP with 1280×720 Pixels a digital zoom and no flash. The extremely low MP of the camera make it useless for stills, but for some reason the software Apple’s uses in the camera creates better video then the 5.0MP camera’s on the Xoom & A500. Regardless of the low MP, you’ll be able to shoot video in 720p HD at 30fps. The front facing camera is a 0.3 MP, VGA Camera with 640×480 Pixels.

We’ve got a comparison video here so you can check it out for yourself.
