There goes ASUS setting the bar for the rest of the industry again! Rumour has it that Computex will launch a new Intel based netbook priced at US$200-250 in order to meet its goal of shipping six million netbooks in 2011. Netbook sales, like the rest of the mobile computing industry, have been effected by the entry of tablet on to the market. By launching a model with such a low price point, it should help the company avoid direct competition with tablets.

So far this is just a rumour from upstream component manufacturers but if you look at the work they are doing around Chrome & Honeycomb with keyboard integration this price point might be a reality.
