Ahhhh, the whiff of fresh Pine – Fresh Pine Trail that is, as Samsung launches three new 10.1 inch netbooks based on Intel’s new graphical Atom platform.
The three little lappies, unimaginatively named N150, N210 and NB30 are all kitted out with the standard netbook essentials; an Atom N450 processor, 1GB of DDR2 memory, 802.11n Wi-Fi connectivity and Windows 7 (presumably starter version).
To add to that, all three also boast 1024×600 resolution on their anti-reflective screens, making them perfect for a bit of fun in the sun.
The N150 sports a 160GB 5,400-RPM hard drive and purports to have up to 8.5 hours of battery juice, whilst the N210 gives you a bit more bang for only a few more bucks with 250GB of storage and 12-hours of battery life.
To make the N210 even more appealing for the impatient amongst you, Samsung reckons its little lappie will also have near-instant ‘on’ abilities so you don’t have to wait for Windows to slowly crank itself up. Samsung credits this to its HyperSpace technology, which is mighty similar to rival Asus’ offerings.
The toughest of the lot is the 160GB NB30 which apparently comes with “specially-designed durable casing,” and a hard drive protected against thrills and even up to 50 cc of spills, for you clumsy customers out there who can’t hold your coffee.
In terms of pricing, the N150 is set to hit shelves at around $350, whilst the N210 and NB30 should come in at around $380.
All three are to become available immediately and are protected by a year-long warranty.
Do you want to see Sascha get his hands dirty with the Samsung N150 and the NB30?? Just your luck, we happen to have caught them on camera during CES!
