In typical fashion, ExcaliberPC has early pre-orders for ASUS netbooks – this time both of ASUS’s Brazos Fusion based netbooks / notebooks. It’s about time, because we’ve been seeing both of them for three months already. First up is the Eee PC 1015B – with a 10.1″ display and currently, only the single core AMD C-30 (1.2GHz)  processor is available. I guess we’ll have to wait longer for the dual core C-50 models to show up later. Priced at $289 and available in black, blue, red and white. No ETA for the 1015B.

Then there’s the Eee PC 1215b with a 12.1″ display, available in the same four colors and either dual core Ontario C-50 or Zacate E-350 processors. The Ontario gets Radeon HD 6250 graphics, 1GB of DDR3 RAM and a 250GB HDD for $379 while the Zacate gets the higher clocked Radeon HD 6310, 2GB of DDR3 RAM, 320GB HDD and Bluetooth 3.0 for $449. ETA is April 1.

If I had to guess, I’d say one looks white and the other looks black.

Do they have USBs that are able to charge other devices without turning the netbook on?

This or the 1215N? what do people think? …more towards the gaming side and battery life.

I personally think Optimus is a great technology, and the 1215n has a matte display which i think most people should start looking into imo.

    Now the VX6……………

Seems like the only one to have USB 3.0 is the 1215B higher class, the one with PU instead of MU.

The U270 is in stock here in HK and goes for around US$500, which is what the HP goes for here too. No 1215B here yet. It seems the U270 has a better keyboard and webcam and is slightly smaller than the 1215B but it has a tiny trackpad. Useable but tiny. Same size battery, HDD etc. Possibly the Asus can read SDXC which perhaps the MSI can’t. HP doesn’t have USB3.0 so it’s off my list. MSi has a fast charge through the USB which is very useful for me.

I’m hoping someone is going to get a U270 and a 1215B to do a side-by-side test for things like size, heat, noise, efficiency, etc.
