Following on from yesterdays announcement of the DR-570, an OLED-packing e-reader from ASUS with a purported 122 hour battery life, Engadget has more details on this exciting little number.

As expected from an OLED, the page-turning speed is phenomenally fast compared to a standard e-reader at 0.3 seconds.  The DR-570 also has 4GB of internal storage and optional expansion via an SDHC card slot, 512MB of SDRAM, and a 1,530mAh battery.

More interesting than the bare specs is the included software – a web browser, RSS reader, Flash player and support for a bevy of audio and video codecs.  All of this gets bundled up in a package weighing 200g with a tickness of just 8.8mm.

It’ll be interesting to see if ASUS’s “real world situation” claims about the battery life stand up to it’s impressive 122 hour estimate when all anybody wants to use this for is watching new episodes of House, but we’re willing to be optimistic for the moment.
