No netbook from Apple
So, more or less as expected, Apple didn’t launch a netbook at WWDC. In fact, Apple didn’t launch anything new, as all the product announcements were of updated products. Some tweaks to its MacBook Pro’s (SD card instead of Express Card slot, faster CPUs) and the 13-inch model became a MacBook Pro. The iPhone 3G turned into the iPhone 3GS which gets some faster bits inside, a 3Mpixel camera with auto focus and VGA video recording at 30fps. Snow Leopard is still some time away, as it’ll launch in October which is the only thing to really look forward to as Apple will add 64-bit and OpenCL support, all of which is good stuff. Hopefully we’ll see more hardware support when Snow Leopard launches, at least for all of you out there that wants to run a hackingtosh. Oh, and Snow Leopard is only $29.
