DreamBook ePad F10 Oak Trail tablet launches

Australian based Pioneer Computers recently launched the Dreambook ePad F10, their first Oak Trail 10-inch tablet running Windows 7 or Android. The specs – a 10.1″ 1024 x 600 multi-touch capacitive display, Intel Atom Z670 processor (1.5GHz), 16 / 32 / 64 /128GB SSD / up to 2GB of DDR2 RAM, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, WiDi, Bluetooth (optional), 1.3MP camera, 8 hour battery and Windows 7 and Android, 3.5G and ports – HDMI, SIM card slot, 2-in-1 card reader and USB 2.0. Weighs under 700g and measures 243 x 175 x 15mm in size.

Price starts at $499 for a 1GB, 16GB SSD configuration but climbs to $896 if you include 2GB of RAM, 64GB SSD, 3.5G and a 1.3MP webcam. Pre-orders only right now with a shipment supposedly later this month.

    Is this the first Oak Trail product to go on sale?
    It doesn’t mention what version of Android it would it run. Are there many apps that would run on x86? Looks kinda cool but do you think MeeGo would be best on a product like this not Windows? Or even Ubuntu.

    Sigh, thanks for being polite and making the internet a better place for everyone.
    First, saying MeeGo would be better than Windows implies that I know Windows is on the device and second this blog and/or the source link say you can buy it with options for Windows, Android or Ubuntu, or all of the above. So you can buy it with only Android or only Ubuntu on it…
