Last year, CherryPal released the CherryPad budget Android tablet in the US for under $200 and LaptopMag were pretty positive about it for a bottom of the barrel budget Android tablet and recommended it over the Augen GenTouch 78. Now there’s word of a new CherryPad tablet that’s expected to be announced in the following weeks.
The new CherryPad tablet will be a step above the previous with better specs, and a price tag to match; somewhere between $300 – $400. Rumored specs are Android 2.2 (minimum), a 7-inch 1024 x 600 multi-touch capacitive display, front and rear VGA / 3.0MP cameras, a 1GHz Cortex A8 chip, 512MB RAM, 8GB or 16GB of flash memory, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, HDMI output, accelerometer, microSD card slot and an unlocked GSM antenna.
