While it’s not the dual core AMD C-50 dual core (1.0GHz) APU that’s going to compete with the dual core Atoms and found in the upcoming Acer Aspire One 522 and Toshiba NB550D, the single core AMD C-30 (1.2GHz) has been benchmarked over in Hong Kong, and compared against the N550 but of course not a fair comparison. Notebook Italia’s compiled some side by side images for us all. The AMD C-30 gives a WEI score of 1.9 while the Atom N550 gives a total of 2.8. As you’d expect, AMD blows any Atom away in graphics with a score of 4.1 vs 2.8 here and of course the dual core Atom has the edge over the single core C-30 – 3.1 vs 1.9 for processor. 3DMark06 returns a score of 1710 for the C-30, and 152 for the Atom N550.

What we really need is benchmarks of the AMD C-50, and we’ll have to wait for battery life benchmarks too to give us the full picture as to how AMD’s Brazos Ontario platform fares against Intel’s Atom Pine Trail platform.

You have a missmatch in your thread…You are talking at the end about single core C-50 but it should be C-30 i guess.

the C-50 will probably score in the high 2′s matching the N550. the C-50 GPU will blow it away obviously.

overall the Ontario is going to score very similar to the Asus 1015 w/ION, near equal CPU’s with the power of ION level GPU. the BIG difference is Ontario will do this at 9w while the N550 (8.5w) + ION (6w) combo will be 14.5w total.
