Last we heard of the HP / Palm WebOS tablet, it was scheduled for an early release next year, probably under the name “PalmPad”, a trademark registered early on and mentioned as part of their ‘future portfolio well beyond smartphones’ in an analyst meeting in September. Today Engadget’s heard about an upcoming keyboard accessory and a few details on the tablet itself.
The tablet is internally codenamed ‘Topaz’ and has no hardware buttons, at least on the front, with a design that matches that of the keyboard. The keyboard looks like a compact chiclet keyboard and features the Windows key in addition to WebOS specific keys. HP will sell it for general use or for the tablet which should be some time in the first half of 2011.
