Dual screen tablets have been popping up every now and then and they have had me scratching my head, you can only look at one screen at a time and the power draw to use the other a keyboard is massive. The battery life necessary to make this already heavy device last would make it a work out to use and that’s before they decided to make it 14.1 inches!!

The Kno will be releasing their 14.1 inch dual HD LCD screens (1400 x 900) for the education market. In this tablets massive frame you’ll also find an Nvidia Tegra T200 CPU, up to 32GB of internal memory, WiFi, Bluetooth and a battery that is expected to last for up to 6 hours of “normal campus” use. The 16GB version of the device will cost $899, while the 32GB Kno will cost $999.

The Kno runs a Linux-based OS, and, as mentioned, it targeted at the education market. The device will have an eBook reader that will allow students to read downloaded textbooks, as well as a stylus for taking notes. The dual screen Kno weighs a hefty 5.6 pounds, but as any student knows, that’s quite light compared to a semester’s worth of books. I’d like to see this unit in action as I think the dual screen isn’t as appealing as Kno would have you believe.
