Now that the tech world and his wife know that Google is launching a branded phone – the Nexus One, it seems that Mike Arrington at TechCrunch has the inside scoop on Google’s next big hardware venture – a Google-branded Netbook.
Reportedly Google has been in discussions with a manufacturer about building the device for a Christmas 2010 launch. It is claimed the device will be 3G-enabled (and presumably available cheaper on contract from a mobile carrier), although I would have thought at this point that was a no-brainer given it will run Chrome OS, which is fairly useless without a connection of some kind.
It’s all speculation at this point, but if you want to make a start on your 2010 Christmas list, this might not be a bad addition.
