Update: The Asus U36JC is now shipping at Amazon.com

ASUS had a few models being debuted at their press conference today but only one seemed like it was something a little different, something actually worth mentioning. The ASUS U36Jc is a 13.3 inch Core i5 notebook that weights in at only 1.66Kg. It also come stocked with the Nvidia GeForce 310M with 1GB of DDR3 RAM.

The build quality of the unit seemed very decent as when we pressed on the back of the screen we had to press rather hard to get any distortion. We were able to get some hands on time with the unit and were pretty impressed except for the tragically glossy display. The unit is expect to cost around $1100 and is already up for pre-order here in Taiwan.
