Its not often that a consumer beats all the hungry press to an unboxing so congrats to HeatlessSun on the Tablet PC Review Forum for posting some unboxing pics. The popular Slate will run the Intel Atom Z540 processor at 1.83GHz on an 8.9″ screen with 1024x 600 resolution. We’ll also see 2GB of DDR2 RAM a 64 GB SSD, wifi, bluetooth and a 2 cell 30Wh battery which should last about 5 hours.

Along with the Unboxing photos he’s jotted down a few notes saying that Internet Explorer 8 works well, handwriting recognition works well, and that the device is “pretty fast.” We’ve included just a few of his unboxing pictures, if you want to drool over a whole set head on over to Tablet Pc Review

    Your silence is deafening.

This is a tablet. Your failure to identify it as such, despite the obvious association of this unboxing to a tablet oriented website, is telling. Obviously, if you embraced this accuracy it would stand in awkward and uncomfortable opposition to your cavalier use of the word tablet, that you routinely use to identify non-tablet slates. Luckily, this is a netbook site, so you’re forgiven for having no idea what a tablet is (not to mention for over-using the term tablet in the hopes of driving eyeballs to your articles).

Whatever you think a tablet is… I suggest you go back to the basics:
