Get your Windows 7 iPad! Sascha was over at GSM Asia and made a pit stop at a few of the Hong Kong Computer Markets and found an iPad running Windows 7 Home Premium! The chassis is identical to the iPad in every way but once you look under the hood its a whole other ball game. This 9.7″ Shenzhen clone is running the 2GHz Intel Z550, 1GB DDR2 Ram, 16GB SSD but what makes us sit up and want to play is its Intel US15W chipset which will support 2D, 3D & High Definition video acceleration. In its 242mm x189mm x 14.8mm frame it manages to fit in a 4 USB 2.0, VGA, HDMI, audio jacks, card reader, WLAN, Bluetooth 2.0 and a G-Sensor. In case you were wondering if you could make video calls with it, it does have a 0.3 Megapixel Camera where you can experience your calls in 1024 x 768.

WOW a slate that isn’t severely under powered but not using the ULV processors I’m almost willing to overlook the lack of Nvidia ION2. Can you provide a rough price after currency conversion? If this can be had for a price equivalent to the low to mid $400s I’d probably buy it.Lots of slates to their detriment are using the N450 which to me is strictly last gen.

I’m really shocked that they can fit so much in this device! Where is there room for the battery? Also W7HP takes up about 10GBs itself… That doesn’t leave much room left over.

And still no ability to use a stylus. I don’t get it. Everyone wants to touch…but does anyone actually want to write, draw, or note anymore?

price? release date? can’t wait to get something like this (and replace windoze with linux of course). also see the viewsonic viewpad 10 inch model which is similar to this.

actually you can use a stylus as it is a capacitive touchscreen have you seen the ipad vids on youtube? If this comes out to be real and at a price of roughly $300 – 450 I’d buy it. The capacitive screen is just fine for drawing/sketching/writing but if you want to do any serious digital inking for your sketches then you are SOL.

Indeed, the company is a scam. I’m not sure why everyone has forgotten.
