Archos completes its tablet lineup by pushing out the last of its current tablets – The Archos 101 which finally started shipping a couple of days ago. Prices start at $300 for one with 8GB flash storage and $350 for 16GB flash storage. Key features being great codec support as with all Archos’ products and the low cost. The product page notes that it ships with Android 2.1 with an upgrade to 2.2 coming by the end of November. As usual, no Marketplace but you should be able to sideload it – Archosfans.com will probably have something up soon.
The Archos 101 sports a 10.1″ 1024 x 600 touchscreen capacitive display, Android 2.2, ARM Cortex-A8 (1GHz) processor with 3D OpenGL ES 2.0, G-sensor, Bluetooth 2.1, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, front VGA camera, mic, built-in stand . Ports – mini USB, USB, HDMI, SD Card slot.
It’s sold out at Archos.com and Amazon.com and JR.com still have them up for pre-order, or partly sold out.
