I saw one of the prototypes last week at DebConf9. It received a lot of interest I can tell you.
It is very very light, the keyboard is one of the best I have seen on a net-book. Battery life was greater than 3.5 hours and that was BEFORE any form of power management was applied (i.e. dimming back light, dynamically clocking the CPU, shutting down unused peripherals etc.), so I guess 8 hour run life will cirtainly be possible.
There were a couple of gripes (but I guess these will be resolved before the unit hits the market), The OS was running from an SD Card, with this being the only media on the platform this will be a real show stopper for me. However assuming that the OS (and root file system) gets shifted to an internal card (preferably still replacable - SD cards don't have wear leaveling afterall) then problem solved. I would also like an ethernet port. Although some descussion has suggested that at 100 Mbit the phy would consume more power than the wirless adapter......

Very nice! I can't wait for those Pegatron netbooks.
Where not those to be released this month? They said at January that it would be released around July to the market. Do you have any idea if it will really be released soon?
