The last post from Notion Ink claimed at least 15 hours of battery life out of the Adam tablet for Rohan’s usage scenario – except we weren’t told what that entailed and whether that was with the Pixel Qi model or not. On the other hand, their latest post is showing how to run the Adam tablet’s battery flat in just 6 hours, so I guess we’re guaranteed at least 6 hours of battery life. Some of these methods include Playing continuous 1080p video at full volume, full brightness and playing YouTube videos over Wi-Fi or 3G. The point they wanted to get across is that the Adam won’t get 15 hours minimum, but it is possible in certain usage scenarios. Watch out for a battery life calculator coming soon.

With Pixel Qi it should get 50 hours in an offline e-reader app.

I am quite sure that Rohan uses a PixelQi equipped Adam, he is a big fan of this display.

    Charbax:
Only if the e-reader app is specially created for this and the hardware supports it.
If the e-reader app is able to auto-suspend after every page-turn and the hw buttons are capable of waking the machine.

The Adam is not optimized for this and it doen’t seem like it will ever be.
No problem, 15+ hours of reading mode is still very good.
