Looks like Lenovo is making something we all knew official, but adding unexpected timelines. Lenovo does not plan on releasing an Android tablet in 2010 as initially expected. PC World reports that Lenovo US COO Rory Read has dismissed a tablet based on Android 2.2 for the same reasons that LG has dropped its plans for a Froyo-based tablet. This is not new news, even Google has said that 2.2 is not built for tablets, that’s why Google Marketplace isn’t available on this variety of mobile computing devices. That’s why everyone is waiting on Google’s Android 3.0 release, nick-named Honeycomb which will offer tablet support.

What is new to me is that Lenovo is waiting on a summer 2011 release for the Le Pad or about four months after Honeycomb is expected to become available. Lenovo also has no plans on releasing a Windows 7 tablet.
