Rember the $99 Linux netbook for Africa? Well the same guys who brought us that have released a 7″ CherryPad running a 800MHz Samsung ARM11 CPU, Android 2.1 with access to the Android Market with enough visual performance for 3D gaming. This tablet is sub iPad and does not compete with Apple’s hardware but then again neither does its $188 price point.

Other specs include 256MB of RAM, 2GB of storage is built-in and a microSD card reader incase you need more space. It supports regular USB and 3.5mm audio jacks and has its own built-in mic. Wi-Fi is so far the only choice for Internet access. Battery life isn’t looking to bad since it has a 3,200mAH polymer battery which should offer 6-8 hours of battery life. The larger battery also contributes to its hefty weight of 1.1lbs with an aluminum case.
The device is priced at $188 and is now available exclusively through newfound partner Zecozi.
