ASUS is doing unboxing videos now! or at least this is the first time I have noticed. Here, they are unboxing the brand new dual core Atom N550 powered ASUS Eee PC 1015PEM 10-inch netbook. If you’ve seen a 10-inch ASUS Eee PC in the past year (extremely likely) then you’ve seen them all. The 1015PEM does have a nice matte chassis and matte display however. In this video we see a quick 720p HD video test and a look at the ExpressGate OS.

Specs we already know – 10.1″ 1024 x 600 display, Intel Atom N550 processor, integrated graphics, 1GB DDR3 RAM (upgradeable to 2), 250GB HDD, Wi-Fi N, Bluetooth 3.0, 0.3MP webcam, Windows 7 Starter and ExpressGate OS and 13 hours of battery life although expect around 9. It’s pretty much selling everywhere now. Amazon.com has it for $369.

Watched part of the video; I can’t believe he called a 1024×600 a good resolution. Every netbook has a wsvga screen! Make it a WXGA and then you can brag about your display asus. Other than that, matte, chiclet keyboard, N550 and DDR3 it’s close to the ideal netbook. Higher resolution and ion and we’d be there.
