Lenovo has expanded their Edge notebook range into the 11.6-inch form factor with the ThinkPad Edge 11 where previously we’ve had the ThinkPad X100e with ageing AMD processors. This time around the ThinkPad Edge 11 sports new AMD Nile single and dual core processors as well as Intel’s Core i3 / i5 processors. Sounds good? not if you’re in the US – Lenovo has no plans to release this stateside, you’ll have to do with the ThinkPad X100e. Prices start at $450 for the AMD version and $550 for the Intel version. It’ll come in black glossy, black matte or red and should be available from today somewhere in the world.

Inner chassis looks almost identical to the X100e although now I fear the display is no longer glossy. I wonder if the battery still sticks out? Update – red model is glossy, battery sticks out just like on the X100e and the screen is also glossy. Their Core i3 model got just under 5 hours of battery life – see Engadget’s review.
