Fans of Linux, netbooks and the 11.6-inch form factor might be interested in Zareason’s Terra HD – an 11.6″ netbook with typical netbook parts and your choice of various Linux distros. If you need more convincing Ubuntu Linux Tips & Tricks has a review up and seems pretty pleased with it outside of personal annoyances.

The chassis looks very similar in style to the HP Mini 510x business series netbooks and even has an brushed aluminum lid. There are Ubuntu stickers and an Ubuntu function key replacing the Window’s function key.

The specs – an 11.6″ 1366 x 768 display, Intel Atom N450 processor, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, integrated graphics, VGA webcam, n Wi-Fi, 6-8 hour battery (5 according to review) and optional 3G. Ports – card reader, VGA out, LAN and audio jacks. For the OS you have a choice between Ubuntu 10.10, 10.04 LTS, Netbook Remix 10.04 LTS, Kubuntu 10.04 LTS, Debian 5, Linux Mint 9, Fedora 13 or just no OS at all.

Price starts at $449 so again this is clearly for die hard Linux fans looking to support such companies and don’t mind not getting the best bang for their buck. International shipping is available.
