Update: As we saw in the pre-registration earlier today, Chippy over at UMPCPortal comfirmed that the ViewSonic Viewpad 10 will come with an Intel Atom N455 processor, not a dual core Atom N550 as seen in these stores.

Did you fancy ViewSonic’s ViewPad 10 10-inch tablet over at IFA a couple of weeks ago? It was an Intel based tablet with a dual boot Windows 7 and Android 1.6 (at the event, 2.2 not ready for Intel platform just yet). At the event it had a single core Intel Atom N455 processor but checking out store listings in the UK they all list the new dual core Atom N550 processor, although they all have the wrong clock speed (1.66GHz). Either they’ve attempted to copy specs from news posts or they know something we don’t. I’m sure ViewSonic would have mentioned a dual core processor if it was going to come with one.

Other specs, although sparse, pretty much match up to what we saw at the event – 16GB of storage, 2GB of RAM, Windows 7 Home Premium, Android 1.6. Last we heard, it’ll retail for around 550 pounds (although these stores quote it for cheaper) and is expected out next month in October in the UK.
